This 645,000-square-foot building is San Jose’s first luxury high-rise condominium built in downtown. It was developed by KT Properties and Spring Capital Group.
A post-tension concrete structure, the building is sheathed in a Benson unitized curtain wall system. Large-scale custom light fixtures grace the building at the street level and parapet, and a solid concrete arch creates a grand entrance to the tower. It boasts 22 stories above ground, three below-grade levels, and 328 units. Live-work units wrap around the ground floor. Amenities include a large landscaped terrace with swimming pool, whirlpool baths, and a cabana.
The project required Federal Aviation Administration approval due to the building’s location on San Jose airport’s flight path.
Axis Condominiums was completed in 2008 at Ankrom Moisan Associated Architects by a design team that included Kevin Sauser, John Wright, Nathan Miller, and Michael Cleveland. All are now working for C2K Architecture.
