C2K Architecture designed both the building shell and the tenant improvement for Robertson & Olson Construction’s headquarters, located in Building D of the Camas Meadows Office Complex. The general contractor occupies most of the second floor of this Type III-B structure.
The office space contrasts modern materials with old world craftsmanship, using a mix of warm and cool materials and tones. A large skylight above the roof’s internal truss supports brings ample natural light to work spaces below; lighting is otherwise supplied by 100-percent LED fixtures. We worked with the client to integrate their custom wood and metal work throughout the 6,700 square feet of space. As a result, the building also serves to showcase their craft.
We used reclaimed lumber for the wood floors and mortise-and-tenon joinery for the interior wood framing. Pounded metal details and custom hardware appear throughout the office. A garage door is inventively integrated for an office space that can either be left open or made private.
The project was completed in 2011.
