Downtown Los Altos is undergoing redevelopment to cater to its young, tech-savvy set, and innovative family fun is on the menu. In keeping with their quaint community restaurant, Bumble, The Alley Burger House owners Mary and Brian Heffernan will focus on locally sourced produce and the highest quality ingredients, putting an upscale twist on the traditional burger joint.
Food innovations at The Alley House will be mirrored in the building’s design, which proposed to convert an existing 12,000-square-foot building into a modern, rustic dining room. The first two floors will contain an Entre-Prises climbing wall, a two-lane bowling alley, and a milkshake bar. The basement’s full, mixology-inspired bar and karaoke stage will give its adult visitors a tempting alternative. Turner Exhibits out of Lynwood, Washington, will provide "kinetic architecture" in the form of a two-story-high mechanized operable window. The project remains in concept form.
